5 Steps to creating your design

Step 1) Find your font

Do NOT underestimate the power of font selection. It is easy to overlook, but it has an enormous impact on your final product. We recommend using open source font collections, such as dafont.com. Find something that suits your needs.

Step 2) Find your image (google image search)

A lot of people ask to see our clipart or design catalogs. We don't use design catalog's or clipart. Why limit you to what is in a single collection of designs? We use the worlds best design catalog: google images. Find something that inspires you, is similar to what you want, or just cruise around for ideas. And don't worry about copyright infringement; you are just telling us what you like. We won't copy anything that has trademark or copyright protection.

It is a good idea to use the "options" panel to search for clipart or line drawings if you are looking for a 1-3 color design.

Step 3) Consider Color Options (don't be a kid!)

For some reason, people tend to view their color options like a child with the basic crayola 8. There is more to life than basic colors. Try to think in hues, shades, and tints of colors rather than their most noticeable form. We use the pantone matching system to formulate our inks, so if you have access to a pantone system, play around.

Here is a good site to help you think of color options: colorcombos.com

Step 4) Consider Imprint Size

People like to ask what the "standard" size is for screen printing. There is no such thing as standard. Everything depends on the look you are going for. The largest imprint we can print is 16" x 18". We will give you the design layout to scale before going to final approval.

An important consideration is the size of your smallest shirt. If you want children's xsmall shirts along with adult 5XL, the design is going to look a little small on the largest adult shirts. The reason for this is simple: we can only print to the size allowed by the smallest garment for that production run. If necessary, we can do different setups for different tees, but it keeps your costs down to have one setup.

Step 5) Start Early!
One of the worst regrets is when customers have to approve a design before they are happy with it to meet production deadlines. We have incredible turnaround on most designs, but it isn't always enough. Sometimes the first draft is perfect, and sometimes it can take 3-4 tries to get the perfect artwork. Don't be afraid to keep making changes (we want you to make sure its perfect), but you can only make sure its perfect if you allow enough time for our designers to create your perfect design.
